Mobile Phone Ring Time Adjustment
Telstra Mobile and Boost Mobile
Sick of running across the room to answer your phone only to get there one ring too late? Well then check out this helpful tip to give you more time before you miss a call.
If you use either Telstra or Boost Mobile phone service, you will have noticed that when your phone rings, it does not ring for very long, before going to message bank. This is because the default time is set to just 15 seconds. This generally is not enough time to get your phone out of your pocket or handbag.
This can be fixed by adjusting the ring time, and is quite simple to do. Follow the instructions below.
If you dial this simple code into your phone you can choose how long it rings, before it diverts to message bank or hangs up. You just need to go into your phone Dialler Pad (as if to make a call), and enter **61*101**(Number of seconds)#. So, let’s say you want your phone to ring for 30 seconds, before diverting to message bank.
Example:
Enter (on Dialler Pad)
**61*101**30#
Then press ‘Send/Call’. It’s that easy!
Here are a few things you should remember:
- The default ring time is 15 seconds
- You must select ring times in 5-second increments (15, 20, 25 etc)
- 30 seconds is the maximum you can select
- If you want to reset everything back to the default then enter ##004# and press send/call
Optus Moblie, Has slightly different instructions
To increase (or decrease) the time before your voicemail picks up an incoming call:
Dial the code in the example below
Replace ‘XX‘ with the ring length in seconds. The ring time can be set in increments of 5 seconds to a maximum of 30 seconds. e.g.: 05, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.
Go to your Dialler Pad, (as if to make a call).
Example: **61*321**XX# (Replace “XX” with the Seconds required, as above)
then press ‘Send/Call’
